Meta Signs Renewable Energy Pact

Meta has signed agreements to purchase 595 MW of renewable energy from Zelestra, supporting its data center operations in Texas. This move aligns with Meta’s goal to reach net-zero emissions across its value chain by 2030. The company has set a precedent as one of the largest corporate buyers of renewable energy.

The agreements will enable Zelestra to build four solar projects in Texas, delivering 595 MW of electricity into the grid. This brings the total renewable energy supply from Zelestra to Meta to 800 MW. The projects are part of Meta’s efforts to match its electricity usage with 100% clean and renewable energy. Zelestra’s solar projects will support Meta’s ongoing sustainability initiatives.
