Armenia – Azerbaijan Customs Data Exchange

Armenia and Azerbaijan are exploring ways to simplify customs and transit procedures, including the pre-exchange of information about goods in transit. This move aims to streamline the import process and reduce risks. A similar system has already been successfully implemented between Armenia and Georgia, where export data is exchanged in advance. This cooperation has significantly facilitated trade between the two nations.

The proposed solutions are adaptable to specific circumstances and may include the pre-exchange of scanned images to minimize risks. Modern digital platforms will also be utilized to support these solutions. A simplified transit route through Armenian territory to Nakhichevan is also being considered. This initiative is part of Armenia’s “Crossroads of Peace” project, promoting regional cooperation and trade facilitation.
