Creative Sol House

Asia’s Energy Hub

Vietnam is emerging as a leading renewable energy hub in Southeast Asia, driven by its vast development potential and ambitious green economy growth targets. The country has rich renewable energy resources, particularly in wind and solar power, and advancements in battery energy storage systems. Vietnam’s installed solar power capacity reached 17GW in 2023, nearly double that of all other ASEAN nations combined.

Vietnam aims to increase the green economy’s GDP contribution to $300 billion by 2050, up from $6.7 billion in 2020. To achieve this, the country will require significant investments, estimated at $135 billion by 2030 and up to $511 billion by 2050. International collaboration is crucial, with countries like the UK and the Netherlands supporting Vietnam’s energy transition.
