Italy is backing Ethiopia’s digital transformation with a €4.5 million grant. This initiative aims to foster startups and accelerate digital services adoption in Ethiopia. The partnership includes establishing an e-services and startup incubation center, a training hub, and a high-tech talent development center. A Fab Lab will also be created, equipped with cutting-edge tools for manufacturing and prototyping.
This collaboration aligns with Ethiopia’s Digital Ethiopia 2025 plan, which seeks to transform the country into a knowledge- and innovation-driven economy. Investments in mobile technology and digitalization are expected to drive growth in key sectors. Digital expansion is projected to boost economic growth, contributing billions to agriculture and manufacturing by 2028.
