Digital Citizen Mobile App

Cyprus has taken a significant step towards digital transformation with the launch of its mobile digital services app, Digital Citizen. The app enables citizens to obtain and store official documents in digital format for legal use within the country. This includes biometric identity cards, driving licenses, and vehicle roadworthiness certificates. QR codes facilitate the scanning of digital documents.

The Digital Citizen app is part of Cyprus’s digital ID program, (link unavailable), which allows for identity verification, authentication, and digital document signing. The country aims to accelerate digital transformation and become a future-ready, knowledge-based economy and society. With this launch, Cyprus is urging organizations to prioritize accepting digital ID documents, paving the way for a mandatory transition.
