Digital Transformation in Malaysia

Malaysia’s job market is expected to undergo significant changes in the next decade, with over 30% of jobs affected by artificial intelligence (AI). Manufacturing, services, and information technology sectors will be particularly impacted. The government has identified the need for more than 600,000 workers to undergo reskilling training within the next 3-5 years. This training will focus on emerging technologies like AI, cybersecurity, and data analytics.

To address this challenge, the government is ensuring that training courses meet international standards and industry needs. The Technology and Technical Professional Development Council (TPDC) has been established to provide a framework for recognized training programs. These initiatives aim to equip Malaysian workers with the skills required to remain relevant in the competitive job market. By doing so, the country can navigate the transformation driven by AI and Industry 4.0.
