Drones Transform UAE Urban Transport

The UAE has begun mapping air corridors and developing regulations for flying taxis and cargo drones, a major step towards transforming urban transportation. This initiative aims to relieve traffic congestion and improve connectivity. The UAE plans to complete the mapping and regulatory process within 20 months. The new air corridors will connect key international airports and iconic places in the UAE.

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) entities are collaborating on this project. They will ensure the safe integration of piloted and autonomous air taxis and cargo drones into urban environments. The initiative supports sustainable economic growth by creating a flexible and diverse transport system. This will pave the way for a smarter, more connected future.
