Google Introduces Quantum-Safe Digital Signatures

Google has introduced quantum-safe digital signatures in Cloud KMS, aligning with NIST’s post-quantum cryptography standards. This update enables enterprises to test and integrate quantum-resistant signatures, ensuring encryption resilience against future quantum threats. Google outlined a broader post-quantum security roadmap, including PQC support in Cloud HSM and migration paths for cryptographic keys.

Google’s post-quantum security roadmap includes full support for standardized PQC algorithms in software and hardware. The company is also integrating PQC standards into open-source cryptographic libraries and partnering with hardware security vendors. Google has been actively working to strengthen its encryption infrastructure against future quantum threats since 2016. The introduction of quantum-safe digital signatures in Cloud KMS is a significant step in this effort.
