Pakistan: Digital Transport Revolution in K-P

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Transport Department is undergoing a significant transformation through digitization, aiming to modernize its services, including the issuance of driving licenses. This initiative is expected to boost revenue generation in the province. The digitization process is anticipated to be completed within one year and six months.

The mobile application “Dastak” will enable citizens to obtain driving licenses online, streamlining the process and eliminating middlemen. Digitization will also curb issues like fake licensing and medical certification. Special concessions will be offered to overseas Pakistanis in the digitization of driving licenses. This digital shift is poised to enhance the overall efficiency and transparency of the Transport Department’s services.
