Saudi Arabia’s Digital Transport Leap

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Transport and Logistics has taken a significant leap towards digital transformation with the launch of a cutting-edge Digitalization and Technical Processing Center and the Unified Documents and Records Platform. These initiatives aim to elevate the transport and logistics sector’s contribution to the Kingdom’s GDP from 6% in 2021 to 10% by 2030. This move aligns with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

The strategy focuses on infrastructure upgrades, operational efficiency, and improving service quality and safety. Major projects include expanding the railway network, enhancing port facilities, and increasing air freight capacity. The ministry also aims to reduce road traffic accidents and fatalities by over 50% and cut fuel consumption in the transport sector by 25%.
