UK Launches AI Security Hub

UK is launching the Laboratory for AI Security Research (LASR) to counter emerging AI threats. With an initial funding of £8.22 million, LASR aims to bring together experts from industry, academia, and government to assess AI’s impact on national security. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the UK’s cyber defence capabilities.

The lab will prioritise collaboration with Five Eyes countries and NATO allies, building on the UK’s historical strength in computing. The initiative forms part of the government’s comprehensive approach to cybersecurity. The UK aims to stay ahead in the “AI arms race” and protect itself and its allies from emerging threats.
