Vietnam Digital Economy Grows

Vietnam’s digital economy has reached a gross merchandise value (GMV) of $36 billion in 2024, a $5 billion increase from 2023. The country’s e-commerce sector alone achieved a GMV of $22 billion in 2024, up by $3 billion from the previous year. This growth is attributed to Vietnam’s tech-savvy young population and high social media integration.

Vietnam’s e-commerce market is projected to continue growing, with forecasts suggesting it could reach $63 billion by 2030. The country’s digital economy could surge to $90-$200 billion by 2030. The government’s investments in digital infrastructure, streamlined customs procedures, and improved internet connectivity have supported this growth.
