Vietnam Introduces Digital Signatures

Vietnam has upgraded its national digital ID app, VNeID, to enable citizens to create digital signatures. This new feature allows citizens with level two electronic identification accounts to register for digital signatures on the VNeID app. The digital signature can be registered without providing copies of documents and subscription records. This simplifies the registration process and enhances security.

The upgrade also includes an expanded health record system and electronic judicial record certificates via VNeID. The e-health record system is expected to save around 1.15 trillion VND annually. Electronic judicial record certificates will offer greater convenience and compliance with online transaction laws. Digital signatures will add to the functionality, streamlining operations for businesses and reducing paper copies.
