Zambia’s digital economy is creating new opportunities for its youth, with over 10% currently unemployed. The National Development Plan highlights digital capacity-building as a key strategy for economic transformation. To address this, a training program was launched to equip 175 individuals with skills in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and social media. This initiative aims to bridge Zambia’s digital divide and unlock new business opportunities.
The program has already shown promising results, with nearly half of the participants being women and over 60 establishing profiles on freelancer platforms. This initiative is part of a broader effort to support Zambia’s digital entrepreneurs and connect them with global opportunities. By building digital skills, Zambia’s youth can unlock new avenues for economic participation and innovation.
